JZ Flowers operates within the Dutch Flower Group (DFG), the DFG is a unique family of 30 specialised trading companies who together, serve the entire DFG floral chain. Within the DFG, the Dutch Flower Foundation (DFF) was established in 1999 with the aim of supporting good causes in areas in which we operate to improve social and environment standards and the welfare of those in need. The foundation receives financial support from members of the DFG family and our supply chain partners.
In 2016, the DFF in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, an organisation that builds houses for families in developing countries, went to Kenya with 11 employees from different DFG companies. Our previous Facilities Manager was selected to take part in the project and help build homes for orphaned children and families in need.
In September 2017, JZ Flowers in partnership with DFF once again and Herburg Roses Plc, supplied over 150 school children in Ethiopia with school equipment and their first school uniforms. Our Buying Manager Stephanie I’Anson visited Ethiopia and presented this to the local community within Ziway, Ethiopia.
In November 2017, the DFF and JZ Flowers continued their support of Habitat for Humanity with another local building project in Zambia. Our Ethical Trade Officer Jonny Young was part of the build team and we are, and we will continue to be, immensely proud to support the DFF and Habitat for Humanity.
