JZ Flowers is fully committed to understanding modern slavery risks and ensuring that there is no modern slavery in our business and that of our associated global suppliers.
JZ Flowers supply chain is worldwide including Europe, Africa and Colombia and we take very seriously our commitment to ensuring that we closely monitor all labour on site and in our supply chain.
As part of our due diligence, we are an active member of Sedex and we continually audit our labour providers once a year and encourage our suppliers to do the same.
Our Commercial and Buying team are trained in what to look for when they are on site and take an active role in monitoring the supply chain. As part of our ongoing commitment, we will continuously review our approach to modern slavery by staying abreast of current practise and follow up training with how to carry out worker interviews and audits.
All of our colleagues take responsibility for our anti-slavery initiatives. Our Human Resource, Buying and Commercial teams have all attended GLAA and Stronger Together workshops. We are constantly reviewing our processes to promote a workplace which treats everyone with respect and does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, colour, gender, age, nationality, religion or any other legally protected characteristic.
We encourage our colleagues with an open door policy whereby there is no differential between management and workers and we provide all colleagues with current information in the form of flyers, posters and announcements. We recognise the rights of our colleagues to associate freely and believe that direct engagement between management and workers is the most effective means.
If we identify that a supplier is violating their employees human or employment rights, we would take the necessary remedial action to ensure this does not continue. This may take the form of on-site consultations to advise necessary actions but in extreme circumstances would mean the end of the commercial relationship.
JZ Flowers understands that Ethical behaviour is about the culture of an organisation as well as its policies and processes. We are fully committed to a program of ethical and social responsibility in our employment practises and regarding our employee’s human rights.
