The team began the day in excellent form during the group stage, opening with a 3–1 win over Swift Group before going on to beat Bridge McFarland 10–1 and Scott’s Property 9–1. That momentum continued into the knockout rounds, where JZ Flowers delivered an emphatic 13–0 victory over WJ Group in the Champions League quarter-final, followed by a composed 2–0 win against Smailes Goldie in the semi-final.

The final proved to be a dramatic and heartbreaking end to an otherwise exceptional day. JZ Flowers had taken a 1–0 lead and looked set for victory, only for Wren Kitchen to score an equaliser with just 90 seconds remaining. A minute later, they found the winner, leaving JZ Flowers to settle for runners-up spot after a hugely impressive campaign.

Across the tournament, the team scored a remarkable 38 goals and conceded only five, underlining just how strong their performances were throughout the day. Callum Staves played a major role in that success, scoring 20 of the team’s goals during the competition.

Although the final result was a disappointing one, it was a fantastic effort from everyone involved, with the whole squad giving everything from start to finish. Their performances have now earned JZ Flowers a place in the regional tournament in Leeds on Friday 17 April, where they will face the top three teams from tournaments across the UK.

Representing JZ Flowers on the day were Jason Austwick, Ellis Evans, Ryan Ainley, Callum Staves, Oscar Hodgkinson, Matt Green, Max Sadler in goal, and Luke Stancer.
